The Peggy Scot Foundation is named for the parish of St. Margaret (“Peggy”) of Scotland (“Scot”) in beautiful Arisaig, Nova Scotia.

The Foundation is an incorporated entity completely independent and at arm’s length of the Catholic Church.

Important Dates

September 14, 2015

Founding Meeting – Seventeen residents of Arisaig and parishioners of St. Margaret of Scotland unanimously pass a resolution to launch the Peggy Scot Society.

November 9, 2015

The Peggy Scot Society is incorporated under the laws of Nova Scotia and Canada respectively.

July 26, 2017

The Peggy Scot Society is granted Charitable Tax Status by the Canadian Revenue Agency.

August 20, 2019

The Peggy Scot Society receives its first major gift from an anonymous donor to begin its endowment.

August 12, 2020

The Peggy Scot Society officially changes its name to The Peggy Scot Foundation.
